His presentation, titled "Business Continuity Management: Why Emergency Response Plans Fall Short" will be attended by owners, operations directors, financial directors, human resource professionals, and business development and marketing directors of non-Medicare and Medicare-certified agencies that operate private duty organizations.

In this presentation, Lang will discuss how Business Continuity Management (BCM) is the cornerstone of a business surviving a disaster.  Emergency Management has been tasked by Department of Homeland Security to engage businesses about their disaster planning.  These plans are mainly from a life safety viewpoint and maybe lacking critical business planning components.  This session will describe BCM, why it is important, and the ten components contained in a good BCM program.

He will also cover the difference between Emergency Management planning and Business Continuity Management, the consequences of a disaster beyond the obvious, and the steps and processes necessary for an adequate and auditable recovery plan that meets multiple industry standards.

The 5th Annual Private Duty Leadership Summit will be held in Phoenix, AZ in January 2010.
